Some fresh transfer speculation has just linked Chelsea with a potential move to sign a Paris Saint-Germain star.

In recent history, Chelsea enjoyed great success when they raided French club PSG. Thiago Silva enjoyed four stellar seasons at Stamford Bridge between 2020-2024 after leaving the Ligue 1 giants.

Now, the Blues are tipped to be interested in signing a current PSG player.

Several Chelsea players could push to leave in January to go in search of regular first-team football. However, there’s now just as many rumours about possible incomings into Enzo Maresca’s squad.

Chelsea keen on Nuno Mendes

Respected journalist Simon Phillips has claimed via his Substack that Chelsea have added PSG defender Nuno Mendes to their shortlist of left-back targets.

It is explained that the 22-year-old full-back is now attracting interest from the Blues. Also, the Portugal international’s current deal in Paris is due to expire in the summer of 2026.

Mendes, the rapid left-back, already plays alongside Chelsea stars Pedro Neto, Joao Felix and Renato Veiga in the national side.

Interestingly, former Blues boss Mauricio Pochettino previously coached the defender when they were at PSG together. Speaking back in October 2021 via PSG Talk, Pochettino commented on Mendes: “He is a player with great potential.”

At the age of 22, Mendes is already an extremely consistent left-back performing at a big club. If the price is right, he could be incredible competition for Marc Cucurella at Chelsea.

Alternative left-backs linked with Chelsea

Mendes is the latest left-back to be mentioned alongside Chelsea in the transfer gossip. With Ben Chilwell frozen out by the Blues, it does feel like they’ll need to sign a new option in 2025.

Chelsea are intrigued by Bayern Munich’s Alphonso Davies as they continue to admire the talented 24-year-old left-back. Realistically, he’s in the conversation for one of the world’s elite full-backs.

Elsewhere, Chelsea are big admirers of Leece’s 20-year-old Patrick Dorgu, who can play as a left-back or higher up the field in attack.

Finally, Chelsea has looked at AZ Alkmaar’s David Moller Wolfe, who’s a 22-year-old left-back on Manchester United’s radar as well.
