Chelsea could be set to lose one of their influential figures inside the dressing room during the final few days of the January transfer window.
The current Chelsea squad is extremely young and inexperienced, so surely it can’t be a good time to say goodbye to any leadership figures.
In fairness, Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca claims Levi Colwill is emerging as a leader. Similarly, Maresca thinks Chelsea superstar Cole Palmer is showing more leadership on the pitch.
However, one Blues player with an important presence in the group is linked with a potential transfer exit.

Axel Disasi is a positive influence inside the Chelsea dressing room
Aged 26, Axel Disasi is remarkably one of the older and more experienced individuals inside the Chelsea squad. Therefore, it’s perhaps not a major surprise to hear he’s a big help behind the scenes with his teammates on a day-to-day basis.
The central defender may be struggling for regular starts under Maresca, which has led to transfer speculation about his future. However, it’s interesting to find out that the Frenchman is still a really positive influence at Cobham.
When discussing Chelsea centre-back Disasi, Law told The London is Blue Podcast: “I am told he’s a very good character and very good around the dressing room. I think you can see it a little bit on the pitch sometimes, the way he reacts to things.”
If Disasi does leave the club before the mid-season transfer window shuts on 3 February, he could be leaving a hole in the dressing room.
Even though he’s struggled for regular starts, he’s captained the Blues numerous times in the cup competitions.
| Competition | Appearances | Starts |
| Conference League | 6 | 6 |
| Premier League | 6 | 4 |
| Conference League qualifiers | 2 | 2 |
| Carabao Cup | 2 | 2 |
| FA Cup | 1 | 1 |

Axel Disasi exit speculation
Disasi is expected to leave Chelsea in the January window amid interest from several clubs, including Aston Villa.
Blues defender Disasi wants to join Villa after agreeing personal terms with the Premier League side, but the negotiations are ongoing over a loan deal and salary coverage.
Disasi has not been spotted in Chelsea training images this week, so we’re wondering if he’s played his last game for the club. The time is running out for parties to sort out a transfer in the next few days.
