Juventus have now decided whether they’re going to sign Axel Disasi from Chelsea this month

After struggling for starts this season, Axel Disasi has been heavily linked with a move away from Chelsea.

One club who are said to have looked at Axel Disasi is Juventus. In fact, last month, it was claimed that Juventus had already launched an enquiry about signing Disasi.

The central defender could definitely do with an escape route out of Stamford Bridge right now after making just five appearances in the Premier League this term.

Disasi’s potential exit could help facilitate the arrival of Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace. Chelsea signing Guehi will not be easy, though.

Juventus will not make move for Axel Disasi this month

If Disasi was hoping to join Juventus during this transfer window, then that dream appears to be over.

According to the reliable Fabrizio Romano, while Juventus have discussed Disasi’s name, they have no plans to sign the Frenchman and have now moved on to other targets.

Discussing Disasi on his YouTube channel, the transfer expert said: “There is a chance for Disasi to leave in January. He was discussed as an option with Juventus, but Juventus have different priorities, so Juventus have no intention to go for Disasi. Juventus are looking at different centre-backs.”

Chelsea still look keen to offload Disasi as they try to raise enough funds to re-sign Guehi.

Axel Disasi still has options

While Juventus now seem to be off the table for Disasi, he could still leave Chelsea this month, as Romano mentioned.

The France international is thought to have attracted interest from other teams. For example, one unnamed Premier League club have allegedly enquired about Disasi.

It is not a surprise, as Disasi is still a good fit for the Premier League despite his struggles under Enzo Maresca.

Disasi is tall and good in the air. He won 2.4 aerial duels per game in the top flight last season, which was the highest average in Chelsea’s squad, as per WhoScored.

It has not worked out under Maresca, but there are definitely worse defenders out there, or at least worse fits for the Premier League. Disasi has the attributes needed to not get eaten alive in this division. At another English club, maybe he can show that more.
