Chelsea are expected to loan Marc Guiu to another side before the transfer window closes.

The Blues have been very busy this summer, bringing both Joao Pedro and Liam Delap to Stamford Bridge.

Nicolas Jackson is also still at the club, meaning that Guiu has three strikers above him in the pecking order. Jackson is unlikely to join Manchester United, but the 24-year-old could still leave Chelsea after losing his spot in the team.

As for Guiu, who joined the Club World Cup winners from Barcelona last July, he has also seen a move to one club ruled out this week.

Marc Guiu will not join Swansea City

Guiu was being linked with a switch to Swansea City. In May, it was also claimed that Ipswich Town were interested in signing Guiu, whom they wanted as a replacement for Delap.

However, Chelsea have not agreed to loan the 19-year-old to either club, with a move to the former definitely off the table for the time being.

According to WalesOnline, Swansea are not in the running to sign Guiu and the Spaniard will not be joining Alan Sheehan’s side this summer.

While Guiu’s future is yet to be sorted, Chelsea have found a loan move for the highly-rated Mike Penders.

On Monday, Penders signed his Strasbourg contract, joining Chelsea’s sister club for the 2025/26 season.

How Marc Guiu got on in debut season at Chelsea

Whoever ends up signing Guiu will be getting a very talented forward, with the Spain Under-19 international showing glimpses of that talent during his maiden campaign at Chelsea.

Under Enzo Maresca, Guiu was able to make a real impact in the Conference League. He finished the tournament with six goals to his name after making seven appearances.

In the Premier League, Guiu only featured three times. But had it not been for a hamstring injury, he probably would have had more games under his belt.

It will be really interesting to see what Guiu can accomplish as a regular starter at a Premier League or Championship club next season. Swansea, though, will not be an option for him.
