Chelsea have confirmed the exit of a third player this summer, with the Blues set to wave goodbye to a whole host of players in the next couple of months. The next could replace Sandro Tonali.
Chelsea have already raked in £86.5m this summer. An initial £47.5m was received from the sale of Marc Cucurella to Real Madrid, while West Brom have decided to splash £4m on youngster Jimmy-Jay Morgan.

Earlier this week, Everton confirmed the signing of Tyrique George from Chelsea. A deal worth £24m, with £18m paid upfront. Man City have paid Chelsea a £17m figure in compensation for boss Enzo Maresca.
More are expected. Alejandro Garnacho, Trevoh Chalobah, Mamadou Sarr, Liam Delap, Filip Jorgensen and plenty more are being touted with the exit door. Tonali could now play a part in Chelsea’s next loss.
Newcastle eye surprise move for Chelsea midfielder
It has emerged in the last few days that Brazilian midfielder Andrey Santos could leave Chelsea. Man United are supposedly considering a move to land Santos, with a £50m fee said to be on his head.

However, Man United are not the only club keen on signing Santos. Indeed, the Evening Standard report that Newcastle want to sign Santos this summer. It comes after Newcastle sold Tonali to Tottenham.
A remarkable £100m deal that has seen the Italy international travel to the capital this summer. The Toon need to replace him, and the Evening Standard say Newcastle have joined the race to sign Santos.
Losing Santos is a mistake, unless it helps get Lewis Hall
Chelsea still need a left-back. Talks for Pep Chavarria are ongoing, but the Blues are yet to get a deal done and reports say that former left-back Lewis Hall would be a ‘dream’ signing for Chelsea this summer.
Santos is one of Chelsea’s most-underrated players 🧩
Man United and Newcastle are interested.
Hall has starred for Newcastle since leaving Chelsea initially on loan, even keeping Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal quiet in the Champions League last season. Santos is a top player; losing him would be a mistake.
But if Chelsea could use Newcastle’s interest in Santos to get Hall back to Stamford Bridge, then it would be much more favourable. Hall is said to be open to an exit this summer, and Chelsea would love him.
Otherwise, Newcastle will surely have to part with at least half of their Tonali fee if they are going to get Santos this summer. It is a shame that Santos could depart; he is one of Chelsea’s most underrated stars.
