Mauricio Pochettino is now willing to let Kai Havertz leave Chelsea despite his desire to work with the German at Stamford Bridge.
That is according to 90min.
It signals another step in Kai Havertz leaving Chelsea as an exit now seems extremely close.
What’s the story?
Well – according to BILD in Germany – Real Madrid are nearing a deal to sign the Chelsea No.29 after Karim Benzema left for Saudi Arabia.
That is despite the fact Havertz is admired by Pochettino and Todd Boehly.
It was Simon Phillips who revealed on Substack that the Argentine is a fan of the Germany international, while the Evening Standard add that Boehly wanted to tie the 23-year-old down to a new contract.

Now – however – Pochettino is willing to put his own desire to work with Havertz aside for the greater good.
90min believe the South American is ready to let the Aachen-born forward move to Real Madrid, with Sport1 stating that Havertz has wanted to leave Chelsea for a while now due to the ‘constant unrest’ at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea could now receive more for Havertz
A different story from BILD claimed that Real Madrid are all set to sign Havertz in a deal worth £52m.
However – as mentioned in 90min’s story – PSG have now been alerted to the German’s availability, with Bayern Munich also keeping an eye on the situation as they look to finally replace Robert Lewandowski’s goals.
Therefore, we could be about to witness a bidding war between some of Europe’s richest clubs, which – if it happens – would be great news for Chelsea.
£52m already represents a £23.8m loss on the £75.8m initially invested into Havertz back in September 2020.
So, if PSG can help nudge the price closer to that £75.8m sum, it would be great news for Boehly as Financial Fair Play regulations loom.
