There has already been a major reshuffle in Chelsea’s attacking options this summer, and Xavi Simons could become the latest new option at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues squad next season will include the likes of Joao Pedro, Liam Delap, Estevao Willian, and Jamie Gittens as fresh faces in the forward line.

RB Leipzig playmaker Xavi Simons, 22, has been tipped with a potential move to West London in this transfer window.

Apparently, Simons is close to agreeing personal terms with Chelsea, and talks with Leipzig over a deal will begin imminently. It’s worth noting that German Bundesliga club Leipzig are prepared to sell Simons for around £60m, too.

Chelsea retain interest in Morgan Rogers and Alejandro Garnacho despite Xavi Simons pursuit

According to The Telegraph, Chelsea are ‘confident’ that they can strike a deal to sign £60m-rated Leipzig star Simons this summer.

It is explained that the Blues will need to make at least one more sale in order to land the Dutch attacking midfielder, but that is not expected to be an issue.

In addition, the report claims that Enzo Maresca’s side retain interest in Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers and Manchester United’s Alejandro Garnacho despite confidence that the Simons deal will be completed.

Villa’s attacking midfielder Rogers, 22, has been mooted as a potential target for the Blues this summer. In fact, previous reports claimed that Chelsea could bid for Rogers if Villa make a move for Nicolas Jackson from them.

As for Garnacho, the 21-year-old Man Utd winger has been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge on numerous occasions in 2025. Chelsea believe they could sign Garnacho for just £40m because he’s not part of Ruben Amorim’s plans at Old Trafford.

Even though Rogers and Garnacho have obvious individual ability, do Chelsea need either if they get the Simons deal over the line?

The attacking depth at Chelsea

If the Simons deal is wrapped up, Chelsea may want to forget about any extra additions in the final third of the pitch.

It looks like the Blues will have an exciting crop of individuals to choose from in attack. We’ve taken a look at what the depth could look like at Stamford Bridge in the 2025/26 campaign.

We’ve excluded the likes of Nicolas Jackson and Christopher Nkunku because they are linked with possible exits, but perhaps they could be in the mix as well.

It’s worth noting that the majority of Chelsea’s attackers next term can cover multiple positions, so they should all be driving each other on with incredible competition for starting spots.
