‘Frustrating’ player is about to get his last chance to save his Chelsea career this week in EFL Cup

It will not be long before Chelsea are back in action as they get their EFL Cup campaign underway with the home fixture against Barrow.

Enzo Maresca’s men will no doubt be feeling good about themselves after they made it three away wins in a row in the league with a 3-0 victory over West Ham.

The Chelsea attackers are beginning to make a real statement, with it this time being Nicolas Jackson taking all the headlines with his first-half brace.

Jadon Sancho and Noni Madueke made their impacts on the wings, with them seeming to have established themselves as the dream pairing for Maresca.

This has made opportunities for some of the other attackers harder to come by, with Mykhailo Mudryk one of the players who didn’t get on against the Hammers.

Mykhailo Mudryk to get last Chelsea chance

Carlton Cole described the Ukrainian as ‘frustrating’ last season, and it feels as if Maresca is starting to feel a similar way about the winger.

With reports cropping up recently that he could be on the move when the transfer window opens again, it looks as if he is running out of opportunities at Stamford Bridge.

According to GiveMeSport, Mudryk will be handed a final chance when the Blues take on Barrow tomorrow night.

Given the lower quality of the opposition on paper, there should be a really good opportunity for Mudryk to stamp his authority on the fixture.

Mudryk doing extra training sessions

Maresca has already stated Mudyrk is completing extra training sessions, with it clear that he is making an effort to turn around his situation.

There is likely going to be plenty of changes made to the starting side named by the boss this week, with him staying fairly consistent with the one he selects for Premier League games.

It feels like now or never for Mudryk to make his mark though, with him already facing immense competition for a place in the side.
